Releasing LT seamlessly swaps controller back to analog mode Pulling LT to aim your weapon seamlessly switches controller to M+KB mode with gyro for extra accuracyįull pulling LT aims down the first-person sights Uses analog movement with a reasonably accurate mouse joystick Mostly stock button layout to keep it easy to remember The only difference is that pulling left trigger seamlessly swaps the controller over to KB+M emulation for precision aiming (gyro is also enabled by default), and full pulling LT uses iron sights. This config is almost vanilla, all the keys do pretty much the same thing they do on the default control scheme with a trackball mouse joystick on the right touchpad. None of the ones I tried worked quite well enough, though they would either have needlessly convoluted keybindings for changing modes back and forth, or they didn't like menus or would break easily, or they required changing the keybindings from their defaults. There's a lot of configs similar to this one that use gamepad mode for general gameplay and switch to mouse movement with WASD emulation on the joystick when you aim your gun. The joystick acceleration curves and deadzones are also all sorts of fucked up making mouse joystick a major PITA to configure.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain would be a great fit for the Steam controller, but it doesn't like simultaneous mouse+gamepad input.
